For those of you who don't know, I swim

just today me and jeff were going to go to the make-up time trials(he didnt do his and i had to swim breaststroke).

Our Coach, Nathan, said we just HAD to do IM

Direct quotation: "[Kevin and Jeffrey] should do IM because there are only 4-5 13/14 people who are doing IM and they are not always gonna be around, so for the team and a personal favor to me please swim it." Or somthing like that but you get the point

my thoughts:

-IM is not my forte

-I can't swim butterfly for my life

-I don't like IM

-why is he making me do this

-why is everyone else joining in on jeering us to do it

My response: "Nathan, for a personal favor for you and the team, you should PREVENT me from swimming IM at all costs because I WIlLL let the team down, I WILL not do good, and doing good IS actually the most important factor in the swim meet as it earns us more points."

Now I know at least 3/4 of you people will call me a coward and I respect that so DON'T

for those of you who swim, I'm inferior to all of you so bear with me.

what do you do when somone trys to get attention by doing somthing that a lot of people or everyone else does? This is due to the fact that the certain somone wants to show off or doesn't want to look so stupid when he/she doesn't know what to say when some people have a certain discussion. I'd like to hear your thoughts.
